We may be experts when it comes to plumbing and heating supplies, but this September we’re swapping the pipes for paddles to raise money for our partnered charity, Barnardo’s.

What’s happening?

On 22nd September, our amazing team will put down the boilers, basins and spares to climb into a wooden boat over 10 metres in length, and go head-to-head in a fun-filled battle of pride and charity!

The Dragon Boat race kicks off from 11.30am at Draycote Water Sailing Club, near Rugby, with all proceeds going to support Barnardo’s. Whether you’re a friend, family or customer, everyone is welcome to come along and cheer the teams on – or laugh when someone falls in! Plus, there’ll be grub on offer to recharge our champions once the races are complete.

In the run-up to the event, our paddlers will also be training and taking part in plenty of fundraising activities. They’ve already been boxing and one dedicated colleague has even been running, cycling and rowing from Eastbourne to Tunbridge Wells!

Get involved

We’re all one big family at Graham, so we say the more paddlers the merrier! Customers, suppliers, colleagues – you’re all welcome to join in, grab a spot in a boat and take part in the fundraising efforts. Just send us a message on Facebook or Twitter and we’ll let you know how you can get involved.

Don’t worry if you don’t fancy paddling across a lake – you can still help by donating or sharing our fundraising page!

A worthy cause

All proceeds raised will contribute towards developing Barnardo’s Gap Homes and Future Place initiatives, which aim to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people.

Gap Homes are transitional homes for those leaving care, bridging the gap between supported living and complete independence for young people when they’re at their most vulnerable age. Future Place is a skills training academy providing those aged 16-25 who have left the care system with high quality training, pastoral support and employment opportunities to help them reach their full potential and create a positive future.

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter accounts to find out more and see updates from those taking part. If you’d like to donate, just head over to our fundraising page.
